Murder Following Unprovoked Attack

Anthony Orchard KC led Brett Weaver of 6KBW, in the prosecution of two individuals charged with murder. The attack took place in Staines Road, Hounslow. The sixty-one year old victim was a local alcoholic. He was assaulted in an unprovoked attack, initiated by the first defendant. The assault caused a bleed on the victim’s brain. He died four days later.

After a trial at Isleworth Crown Court, the first defendant was convicted of manslaughter. The jury were unable to reach a verdict on the second defendant.

On 8th February 2024 the second defendant pleaded guilty to assaulting the sixty-one year old victim, occasioning him actual bodily harm.

The sentence hearing for both defendants will take place on 22nd April 2024.
