Acquittal of Attempted Rape and Sexual Assault

Alejandra Llorente Tascon represents young man acquitted of attempted rape and sexual assault.
The then-18-year-old defendant AJ was accused of attempting to rape his friend on a night in 2018, following an end of A-level exams party. The Crown’s case was the complainant had woken up in the Defendant’s bed to find the assault[s] as alleged taking place.
The Defence case was that the alleged incidents had not taken place at all and the complainant was only making the allegations following the spreading of rumours within her group of friends.
Following a 6-day trial at Kingston-upon-Thames Crown Court, the jury acquitted AJ of attempted rape and sexual assault.
